Northern Illinois Parents is an online parenting resource for the Northern Illinois area (currently focusing on McHenry County). We are an all-inclusive resource for parents that features blogs, directories, a local events calendar, contests, and giveaways. Our website explores new topics through our blog – from what to pack in your hospital bag as expecting parents or online safety tips and information for kids and parents, to showcasing local shops and birthday party venues. Our team focuses on needs and interests of parents raising children in Northern Illinois while also hosting guest blogs from a variety of viewpoints. Meet the Team
Courtney
Owner
Courtney is from Harvard, where she still resides just a few blocks away from her childhood home that her parents still live in. She has three daughters (ages 1, 10, & 23). You may be wondering why the age gaps…I guess you will have to stay tuned to hear some of her story😉. She earned a Bachelor of Marketing from University of Phoenix and worked full-time for 17 years at a printing company doing everything from Customer Service, Order Entry, Team Manager, and Sales Support & Marketing Manager. As Courtney had kids and it became harder to find child care, she became a stay-at-home mom. Although she loves being home with her kids, she missed doing marketing. This lead her to starting Northern Illinois Parents. Courtney also enjoys spending time with her family, hosting parties, playing softball, and organizing.
Danaya
Blogger, Directories, Events
Danaya resides in Harvard, IL with her husband, 5-year-old son, and their cat and dog. She graduated from George Williams College of Aurora University with a Bachelor of Science, focusing on Organizational Leadership. Danaya is a small-town mom, who loves having big time fun with her family. But living in a small town, there are limited options. Always searching for fun things to do, it became like a second job. So, when the opportunity presented itself to help create NIP, she jumped at the chance! To be able to have ALL the fun things (and more!) in one, easy-to-find place, is something she is passionate about and is happy to share with other parents alike. Along with fun family to-do’s, Danaya enjoys coaching t-ball, hosting get togethers, and spending as much time in the sun as possible.
