Join us on Tuesday, August 5th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Lake in the Hills Village Hall, 600 Harvest Gate for our annual National Night Out Community Cookout event and show that we as a community stand strong together against crime. This free community event will have something for the whole family.
Come watch the LifeNet helicopter land and take off and meet the amazing crew (upon availability). See a live K-9 demo presented by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office. Visit with the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District and the Algonquin Area Algonquin Area Public Library. Meet our awesome Parks and Recreations team members and enjoy all of the fun activities that Rec2U brings. Enjoy and talk to the many additional community partners and services that will be in attendance with engaging, fun, unique and interesting events and things that will interest you or your family.
While you are there, you can also see and touch various types of police, fire, SWAT and Incident Command vehicles, plows and big trucks, and try on a pair of DUI fatal vision impairment goggles. Have a chat with police traffic units, recruiters, 9-1-1 operators, and learn about what programs and resources the police department offers. Do you like television shows like CSI? Then come meet and talk to a real-life crime scene technician and see what it is really like.
Free hotdogs, chips, and pop will be provided.
